Lionel Messi exits PSG by end of June
Lionel Messi leaves PSG and moves to Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal as his contract with PSG ends by the end of June. He was expected to play for Saudi Arabian club by the end of this season and the surroundings confirms it.
As the Argentine star player Lionel Messi had his contract ending, he joins Saudi Arabia Club for the next season under a huge deal, as the greatest football rivals of the history is about to play on the same league after a long time.
“Messi is a done deal. He will play in Saudi Arabia next season,” speaking on condition of anonymity and without naming the club.
“The contract is exceptional. It’s huge. We are just finalising some small details,” added the source, who is not authorised to speak to media.
But on the information from the sides of the PSG club, it is to be said that, Messi’s current club Paris Saint-Germain simply noted he remains under contract until June 30. “If the club had wanted to renew his contract, it would have been done earlier.”
Last week Messi’s tour on Saudi Arabia had a bitter feeling for PSG club as it was against the contract but Messi apologised for the unauthorised tour before the match with Rennes which concluded in defeat of PSG with 0-2 goals.
Rivals to face off again in Saudi Pro League
Messi’s expected arrival in the deserted kingdom follows his long lasted arch Rival Christiano Ronaldo, who joined Saudi Pro League club in January transfers. His Agreement with his club Al Nassr until June 2025 is more than 400 Million Euros which makes him the world’s highest paid footballer ever in the history.
The Deals signed with these players by the clubs are being bankrolled by the public investment fund, one of the world’s biggest Sovereign wealth funds with more than 620 billion dollars in assets.
“The negotiations didn’t take as much time as the ones with Ronaldo. As we now know the recipe to contract world-class players,” said the source.
“It’s Saudi Arabia that brought him not a specific club. The Money comes from one place that is PIF.”
Ronaldo’s arrival has not had the impact Al Nassr would have hoped for on the pitch.
They have lost top spot in the Saudi Pro League table and are out of the running in the King’s Cup and Super Cup.
It was the same since they had both clashed on a Exhibiton match between PSG and Al Nassr where Messi and Ronaldo had a clashing resulted in the victory of Al nassr with 5-4 goals.

Messi, who turns 36 in June, has had two lacklustre seasons in Paris after a glorious era at Barcelona where he won four Champions League and 10 La Liga titles, and is still worshipped by the fans.
