Cricket Australia released an official statement that Sophie Molineux, a left arm spinner was suffering an acute rib fracture after ball being struck in her chest while batting last week.
26-year-old Sophie Molineux was expected to be in recovering process for upto 8 weeks by keeping herself away from the matches. She was expected to return with full fitness before Australia’s 1st Match in Women’s T20 WorldCup 2024. First Match for Australia is against Sri Lanka on Friday, 4 October 2024 at Sylhet.

Australian Women’s 30-year-old Hard-hitting All Rounder Grace Harris is also having own injury concern, aggravating a calf problem recently. Because of which Grace Harris was ruled out of The Hundred – England’s domestic T20 League.
“Harris suffered an aggravation of a calf injury sustained in her preparation for The Hundred and the upcoming season. She is now working through a graduated rehabilitation and [a] return-to-play program,” – Cricket Australia
Australia will engage in a three-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will be played between September 19 and 24. It will be the last series before Women’s T20 WorldCup 2024. These injury concerns will be a huge worry for the Australian Women’s Cricket Team.
