James Anderson Plays Cricket with Ben Stokes’ Kids
James Anderson has retired from tests after following England’s big win at Lord’s against the West Indies. He decided to enjoy his retirement day by playing cricket with Ben Stokes’ kids and the England captain reacted with a heartwarming response to it.
England defeated West Indies in the first test at Lord’s by an innings and 114 runs. Anderson picked up a total of four wickets in the match amassing a tally of 704 wickets to his name and stands before Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.
After enjoying his retirement with the team, Anderson decided to spend some time with the children of his teammates. The Video of Anderson bowling at a gentle speed to the kids has gone viral. Stokes revealed that it was his daughter who was facing Anderson and his son did some tidy fielding. Stokes also said that his kids will realize the greatness of this moment later.
“My daughter batting and my son doing the fielding, they got no idea but one day they will @jimmy9,“ said Stokes on X.
Anderson was disappointed as he couldn’t finish his career in style. He missed the chance to dismiss Gudakesh Motie when he had moved a ball straight for a return catch but ended up dropping it.
“I’m still gutted that I dropped that catch, to be honest, but it’s been an amazing week and I have been quite overwhelmed with the reaction of the crowd and everyone around the ground and the lads as well. Just proud of what we have achieved,” said Anderson after the game.
Anderson said that he was proud of his impressive achievements with England during the series win against Australia and India. After his retirement, Anderson will be expected to join the England team’s coaching setup.
