Toffees interest in Kamaldeen Sulemana, Winger

Everton and Southampton have had £22million bids accepted for Rennes’ Kamaldeen Sulemana, with the Toffees.

New Toffees boss Sean Dyche is about clearly term the conditions to rectify the relegation-threatened club’s struggles in front of goal by adding a forward in January and the club is in talks with 33-year-old forward Ayew after he cancelled his contract with Qatar club Al Sadd.

The Premier League side expects to get a well performed striker before the transfer closes. It is said to be transfer will be closed on Tuesday. Ayew’s Ghana team-mate Sulemana is set to decide between Everton and Southampton.

Everton have some money to spend and a need for new signings on the final day of a transfer window that is crucial to the club’s Premier League survival.

Sean Dyche manager of Toffees

New manager Sean Dyche is taking his responsibility of club manager on Monday but he met with director of football Kevin Thelwell at Finch Farm on Saturday and work to strengthen has been ongoing since. Dyche took his first training session on Monday afternoon as he started preparations for the home match with Arsenal at the weekend.

He will hope that by then he can welcome some new faces to a squad that was struggling for forward players even before the sale of Anthony Gordon, the club’s joint top goal scorer in the league. Gordon’s move to Newcastle United in a deal that could reach £45m does, however, mean that Everton have some funds to play with.

Kamaldeen Sulemana’s transfer statement

If the deadline day transfer is completed he will become the most expensive player in the Saints’ history, surpassing the £20m they paid Liverpool for Danny Ings back in 2018.

Nathan Jones’ side have been desperate for reinforcements this January as they look to avoid relegation and extend their 11-year stay in the Premier League.

Southampton are currently bottom of the table, but just two points away from safety.

Kamaldeen Sulemana

This month they have already signed Carlos Alcarez, Mislav Orsic and James Bree and they now look to add to that list with addition of Sulemana.

The 20-year-old only moved to Rennes in the summer of 2021 but has already shown great potential, helping the club to fifth in the Ligue 1 table so far this season.

It was at the 2022 World Cup where the winger made headlines however, even though Ghana were knocked out in the group stage, officially becoming the fastest player at the finals.

With a recorded top speed of 35.7km/h, Sulemana went faster than world-class stars like Alphonso Davies, Achraf Hakimi and Kylian Mbappe.

Kamaldeen Sulemana player had been garnering a lot of interest, including from Everton and Bournemouth, but has opted to join relegation rivals Southampton instead.

Amid all the chaos of deadline day, the Saints have an important game on Tuesday night at Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final, with Jones’ side behind after last week’s first-leg at St. Mary’s.

Sulemana, who primarily plays on the left, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Kamaldeen Sulemana joined Rennes from Danish club Nordsjaelland in 2021 and has played 20 times this season, scoring once and providing two assists.

Saints have also signed striker Paul Onuachu, 28, from Genk until 2026.

Kamaldeen Sulemana made three appearances at the World Cup in Qatar and was recorded running at 35.7kph (22.2mph) during the tournament, the quickest speed of any player.

“This is another really positive addition for us this month. We have been keen to add a little more potency to the side and Kamaldeen does that for us,” manager Nathan Jones said. Onuachu is the leading scorer in the Belgian top-flight, having scored 17 goals in 22 appearances
