Arsenal plans on signing Jurrien Timber as Premier League toppers have submitted a bid on £30 million for Ajax Amsterdam for Manchester United target Jurrien Timber on the summer transfers. Discussions have been described as very positive and there appears to get all bids from all parties.
Timber has two years left on his contract and is valued at around £50 million, but one report suggest one bid has already been rejected. Arsenally are working secretly on valuation and payment structure.
The Gunners, who finished second in the Premier League last season, are optimistic about completing a deal. However, other clubs, including Bayern Munich, are known to be interested in signing the player this summer.
Timber is a player the Gunners looked at in January and have been monitoring his progress over the past season as they look to increase competition in defensive positions. The club are continuing to work on deals for West Ham captain Declan Rice and Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
Arsenal have been discussing Valuations and payments structure before submitting second bids. It’s clear that all three players want to join.
Arsenal being ambitious in this transfer window and continue to back manager Mikel Arteta, with any move for Declan Rice break the club’s record. They also retain an interest in Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo among others. On the Summer transfers, Real Madrid had completed deal on signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Last summer, the Red Devils were interested in acquiring the services of Timber. However, he opted to stay in the Netherlands. This time around, the centre-back is once again on the Old Trafford side’s radar.
The Holland international developed under Erik ten Hag at Ajax. Over the years, the 22-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising defenders in Europe. On the other hand, Aston Villa had completed signing the deal of Youri Tielemans in Summer transfers.
Arsenal relied heavily on William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes last season. They were on course to get their hands on the league title. But the French centre-back’s injury derailed the North London side’s campaign and Manchester City pipped them.
On the other hand, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane were the preferred pairing at United. The two formed a formidable partnership at the Old Trafford side. Arsenal had succeeded on signing Declan Rice for 100 millions euros.
When the World Cup-winning Argentine was sidelined in the business end of the campaign, Victor Lindelof stepped up to the plate and put in some impressive displays.
