Micheal Arteta about the defeat
A huge blow, we really wanted to go through and fight for the competition. Congratulations for sporting for going through.
We didn’t find our rhythm, we had too many opening and gave way for sporting by letting the guard down, many times. In the last 20 minutes we got the flow, Created three big chances and still we didn’t score.
In extra time we had incredible energy, and with good mentality and we had two big chances. But in the penalty shootout is nothing but a lottery.
The first leg quarter finals of the champions league will be held played by April 13 and followed by second leg match on April 20.
