Chelsea have agreed a deal worth up to 54 million euros with Wolves to sign Pedro Neto and are closing in on the signing of striker Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.
The Portugal forward is expected to have his medical in the next 24 hours after Chelsea’s bid worth an initial 51 million Euros plus add-ons was accepted by Wolves on Friday. Enzo Maresca’s side has a longstanding interest in Neto and Chelsea decided to act on one of their targets after missing out earlier in the summer on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich instead.
Neto was sidelined for most of the last campaign with hamstring and knee injuries and has also been a target by Tottenham for Wolves since he joined from Braga in 2019. The 24-year-old has made 135 appearances and scored 14 goals since joining Wolves in 2019 from Lazio. He will be Chelsea’s ninth summer signing after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guig, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
If the deal is confirmed, Neto will become Wolves’ record sale after Ruben Neves’ move to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal for 47 Million Euros last summer.
The 20-year-old Omorodion who is part of Spain’s squad at the Olympics also looks set to bolster Maresca’s squad after a deal worth 34.5 Million Euros was agreed with Atletico. He is expected to complete his medical in the coming days, with the midfielder Conor Gallagher set to move in the opposite direction in a 36 million Euros transfer.
Chelsea are also expecting offers for Trevoh Chalobah after the defender was made available for transfer. Crystal Palace is one of the clubs interested in the 25-year-old as a potential replacement if Marc Guehi joins New Castle.
