Ian Botham is an England cricket commentator and a member of the House of Lords, a former cricketer who has served as chairman of Durham County Cricket since 2017. Known as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of the game, he represented England in both the Test and ODI formats.
He was part of the English squads which finished as runners-up during the 1979 and 1992 Cricket World Cup.

- Ian Botham was awarded an OBE for his services to cricket and charity in the year 1992.
- Beefy was named Young Cricketer of the Year by the Cricket Writers’ Club in 1977. In the same year, he was awarded as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year.
- Botham was knighted for his services to cricket and charity in 2007.
- Ian Botham was made a life peer in 2020, Baron Botham of Ravensworth in the county of North Yorkshire and he was the first cricketer to be awarded a peerage since Rachael Heyhoe in 2011.
