The La Liga team Barcelona has completed the signing of Mamadou Fall Mbacke after playing a season on loan with the Catalans.
The 21-year-old spent the last season on loan at Barcelona before making a permanent move to the club ahead of the 2024-25 season. He will sign a two-year deal to be valid until June 30, 2026.
Mbacke played along with Mikayil Faye last season but might need a new partner if the defender is promoted to the first team. Barca Atletic is looking for a new coach after Rafa Marquez’s departure.
“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Los Angeles FC for the transfer of player Mamadou Mbacke Fall , who will sign a two-year contract, until June 30, 2026, with the option to extend it for two more years. The Senegalese center-back already played last season at Barça Atlètic on loan from the American team.” said a Barcelona Statement.
Before playing with Barca Atletic, the player for Villarreal has been sidelined for almost half a season. “Fall is a player with incredible potential and exceptional talent,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said.
“He began his professional journey at LAFC, and we are excited to see him join not only one of the top clubs in the world but also a great environment for his continued development. We wish him nothing but the best in his career at Barcelona,” said LAFC statement.
Barcelona are currently in the United States for pre-season and will play their friendly match against Machester City on July 30.
