Man. Utd sale bid by interested parties
Jim Ratcliffe wants to 69% of the clubs possessions while Sheikh Jassim’s bid is for the 100 percent of the club.
It is said to be that United Officials have met both of the investors over a 10 day period of High level meetings, including both Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim representatives.
Both groups supposedly believe they are the only parties interested in a full purchase of United. A partial sale has also been mooted by controversial owners the Glazer Family.
There apparently remains doubt that the Glazers will sell at all. Both offers are expected to fall well short of the Americans’ asking price of £6bn in the first round of bidding, with the Raine Group opening a second round of the process which had a deadline of 9pm on Wednesday evening, though that deadline had to be extended.
The Raine Group and the Glazers will take around a week to evaluate the new bids, although there is no new deadline for Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe to make their bids. Sheikh Jassim bid called Raine on Tuesday and asked for more time. Sir Jim Ratcliffe bid called Raine on Wednesday and asked for more time. Both requests were granted without a new deadline.
Once the bids are evaluated, one bidder could be given exclusivity, although it is more likely there will be another round of bids with a smaller group of preferred bidders.
