The 37-year-old Noman Ali has been recalled to the Pakistan squad for the England test, which will begin on October 7. The left-arm spinner who played his last test in 2023 will replace injured Khurram Shahzad.
He has played 15 test matches for Pakistan and picked 47 wickets at an average of 33.53. In his last Pakistan test, Ali took a career-best of 7 for 70. Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali who were part of the Bangladesh tests, have been snubbed for the first tests but remain in the plans for the future tests.
“With a busy domestic and international cricket schedule, it makes sense to give our players some much-needed rest ahead of the Test series against England,” said head coach Jason Gillespie.
