Real Madrid vs Elche Highlights
Watch Real Madrid vs Elche Highlights on Uksports. Real Madrid secured an emphatic win over Elche tonight at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Amid the 4 – 0 victory, Karim Benzema had 10 shots (the most he’s ever had in a La Liga game) while also scoring a brace which put him as Real Madrid’s 2nd highest scorer in La Liga history and into the top-5 La Liga scorers of all time.
While Benzema made history, there were two Real Madrid players in particular who stood out.
Rodrygo tries for a goal
It wasn’t until late in the game close to the final whistle where Rodrygo finally misplaced his first pass. He went nearly the entire 90 minutes with a 100% passing accuracy. He was so close, in fact, that Euan McTear admitted on the Managing Madrid post-game podcast that he was ready to submit his match report, which included the remarkable 100% passing record.
Rodrygo ended with 96% passing accuracy. It was also remarkable that he was executing difficult passes. Three of his passes nearly resulted in assists, and on another night where Benzema had his finishing boots on, he may very well have.
In addition to his five key passes, Rodrygo also had five completed dribbles. Watch Real Madrid vs Elche Highlights on Uksports
Dani Ceballos on debut for his club
For the second consecutive game at the Bernabeu, Ceballos was met with thunderous applause and fans chanting his name. Ceballos was fantastic tonight. He had a game-high 116 touches, while also finding the mark with three key passes.
But the best part about Ceballos was his insistence on looking vertically. This graph shows just how good he was as a ball progresser, both through passing, and also through ball carries:

And with history lying in Los Blancos’ favor, the fixture could serve as the perfect opportunity for Real Madrid to bounce back from their previous defeat against Mallorca. The Spanish heavyweights emerged victorious in the return fixture with a scoreline of 3-0, a feat they would look to repeat at the Santiago Bernabeu.
After 19 straight losses in La Liga, Elche picked up their first win of the season with Pere Milla bashing a thunderous hattrick in a 3-1 routing of Villareal. But Milla securing the match ball is the only silver lining in a disastrous campaign for the Spanish side.
Sitting at the bottom of the table, Elche has just 9 points from 20 league games while also possessing the joint-worst goal-scoring record (15 goals scored) and the worst defensive record ( 40 goals conceded).
Los Franjiveredas is 12 points away from safety and to make matters worse they face a team against whom they have conceded 24 goals and have never won a game in 20 attempts in all competitions.
Real Madrid will take on Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu on February 16, Thursday, in La Liga. Los Blancos picked up the coveted FIFA Club World Cup after defeating Al Hilal in a high-scoring encounter on Sunday. Despite their enthralling victory, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have struggled to maintain their consistency in Spain’s top-flight league.
Real Madrid succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mallorca in their last La Liga outing. This means that they are now 11 points behind league-leaders Barcelona having played one match less. Hence a victory against Elche would be of prime importance to keep their title hopes secure.
Elche are having a dismal season to say the least, winning just one game from the 20 matches they have played in La Liga so far. They sit at the bottom of the table with nine points. Interestingly their only victory this campaign came in their last outing against Villarreal. Elche defeated them 3-1, courtesy of a superb hattrick from Pere Milla. They will be hoping for something similar when they take on Real Madrid in their next outing.
