Bournemouth on Relegation zone

Watch Bournemouth vs Fulham preview as they meet after a long time in Premier league premises where Bournemouth will be looking to avoid relegation zone with the outcome of the match against Fulham.

Currently Bournemouth is placed in the 19th position of the League standings and Fulham is been on the 9th place of the premier league table.

Bournemouth vs Fulham Preview

After ending a five-game winless home run with an impressive 1-0 triumph over Liverpool, Bournemouth were condemned to their 15th Premier League defeat of the season when they lost 3-0 away against Aston Villa before the international break.

No Premier League team have lost more matches, won fewer points or scored fewer goals than the Cherries since the World Cup break, and Gary O’Neil‘s men find themselves in a hotly-contested relegation battle with eight other clubs heading down the home straight.

Despite their poor run of form over the last few months, Bournemouth sit only one point adrift of safety and could climb out of the relegation zone with a victory on Saturday. A draw, however, will likely see them remain in the bottom three as they possess the worst goal difference in the division.

Sharing the spoils has been a common theme in recent meetings with Fulham, as Bournemouth have drawn each of their last three encounters against the Cottagers, including a 2-2 draw in West London back in August.

The Cherries have lost only two of their last 17 clashes with Fulham overall, though, and they will be confident of success on Saturday considering that they have accumulated 16 of their 24 Premier League points on home soil this season.

Team News and Injury

Bournemouth trio Marcus Tavernier, Junior Stanislas and Illia Zabarnyi are all doubtful and will all be assessed ahead of kickoff, with the latter still waiting to make his debut following his January move from Dynamo Kiev.

David Brooks made his first Premier League appearance in 536 days when he came on as a substitute against Aston Villa two weeks ago after recovering from cancer, and the Welshman will battle with Dango Ouattara for a place in the starting lineup.

Joe Rothwell could start his fourth successive game in centre-midfield alongside Jefferson Lerma, with Philip Billing operating further forward just behind central striker Dominic Solanke, who scored and provided an assist in the 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage in October.

As for Fulham, Mitrovic and Willian are both suspended following their dismissals against Man United, while Neeskens Kebano, Layvin Kurzawa and Shane Duffy remain sidelined with injuries.

The absence of Mitrovic will likely see Carlos Vinicius lead the line, while either Manor Solomon or Daniel James is set to start on the left flank at the expense of Willian.

The rest of Marco Silva‘s starting lineup is expected to remain intact, although Tosin Adarabioyo will push Issa Diop for a place at centre-back alongside Tim Ream.

Bournemouth vs Fulham Head to head stats

The two teams have crossed paths 36 times across competitions since their first meeting in Division Three in 1928, with Bournemouth leading 13-11.

They have met thrice in the Premier League, with both teams winning once apiece.

Their last three meetings have ended in draws. Bournemouth’s last win at home against Fulham came in the Championship in 2014.

The visitors have won won just once against Bournemouth this century.

Bournemout have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, conceding 54 goals in 27 games, Fulham have fared slightly better, conceding 37 goals.

Bournemouth have just one win in their last five home games, scoring four times.

The visitors have kept clean sheets in four of their last six away games in the Premier League.

Fulham have scored more than once just once in their last 11 meetings against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth vs Fulham Prediction

The Cherries have struggled for consistency this season and have endured a poor run of form since the turn of the year. Since the resumption of the Premier League after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, they have lost the most games (8), scored the fewest goals (7) and won the fewest points (8).

Their poor run of form is expected to continue, as they’re winless in three meetings against Fulham. They’re also riding a two-game losing streak. There’s nothing much to separate the two teams at the moment. As their previous meeting ended in a draw, another stalemate could ensue.
