The England paceman Josh Hull has been ruled out of the upcoming test tour of Pakistan due to a quad injury. He missed the current white ball series against Australia due to injury after sustaining an injury during his test debut against Sri Lanka at The Oval.

The England spokesman said Josh Hull will continue his recovery and no replacement call has been made for the England squad for a three-match test series.

The 6 feet, 7 inches tall Hull was a surprise selection for the third test against Sri Lanka, given that he had taken just two wickets in the second divisions of this season’s County Championship at the hugely expensive average of 182.50.

“Get well soon, Josh. Josh Hull has been ruled out of our Test tour of Pakistan due to a quad injury. #PAKvENG | #EnglandCricket,” ECB tweeted.

Durham seamer Brydon Carse and Essex batter Jordan Cox were the only uncapped players picked for the overseas tour. Somerset spin Jack Leach, injured during the India-England series earlier this year, was back along with opener Zak Crawley, who missed the Sri Lanka series due to a fracture in his right little finger.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squad for the first test on Tuesday and included all-rounder Aamer Jamal in the team. Jamal impressed with his all-rounder during the three-match series against Australia, missed the two-match test series against Bangladesh last month due to injury. Noman Ali has been recalled from the Pakistan squad for the home tour.

In addition to him, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah managed to retain their place in the squad after being dropped from playing Xl for the second test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has changed the venues due to renovation work in Karachi. The first match of the test tour will be starting on October 07 at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Revised England squad for Pakistan Tests: Ben Stokes (c), Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith (wk), Olly Stone, Chris Woakes
